Alternative Breast Cancer Treatment

Introduction

Alternative breast cancer treatment is now being adopted as a therapeutic option by a majority of women suffering from breast cancer.

A few of such options are even being increasingly used for the advanced breast cancer treatment.

The treatment for breast cancer usually involves treatment of the breast and cure for the cancer cells that might have spread to the other parts of the body.

In fact, research shows that at least  70% of women suffering from breast cancer resort to alternative therapies at some stage on the treatment process.

Alternative Treatment

The alternative breast cancer treatment is basically a group of various types of health care concepts, products and systems that are different from the conventional forms of medicine. These generally include herbs, special supplements, acupuncture, massage and the like.

Experts suggest starting with a strong diet rich in raw foods as well as natural material called SDG, which has been clinically studied to enhance the prevention and facilitate treatment of breast cancer. Scientific research has established that lifestyle and dietary habits are the main factors that play an important role as a part of the alternative breast cancer treatment.  

The main forms of options used as a part of the alternative breast cancer treatment include:

Hyperthermia is another mode of alternative breast cancer treatment that is proving to be highly effective. The hyperfractionated thermoradiotherapy (HTRT) is a form of alternative treatment for patients who do not respond well to the conventional radiation surgery or chemotherapy.

Meanwhile, the modalities of advanced breast cancer treatment depend on the individual patient’s case history. Advanced breast cancer is characterized by the stage where the cancer has spread beyond the breast and armpit to other parts or organs of the body, such as lymph glands in the neck, bone, lungs, liver and brain.

Advanced breast cancer treatment is usually started with chemotherapy and radiation therapy instead of surgery. However, surgery is also considered as the last option in cases where the cancer is unlikely to respond to such forms.

Main forms of surgery for breast cancer treatment include breast conservation, which involves excision of the tumor that surrounds the normal breast tissue and mastectomy, which is the removal of the whole breast 

Cases that respond the best to alternative breast cancer treatments generally include the ones, which are diagnosed in the early stages. Women who are generally healthy and have had a disease-free past also respond well to alternative breast cancer treatment.
